Services for Jimmie Wayne Lee, 74, were held Feb. 12 at Rader Funeral Home in Longview with interment in Rosewood Park Cemetery.
Mr. Lee born Feb. 26, 1938, in Jenkins, and went to be with his Lord and Savior on Feb. 8 in Longview. He served his country 20 years in the United States Navy, serving on several aircraft carriers, the last of which was the USS Ticonderoga (CVA-14), retiring with the rank of Senior Chief Petty Officer. He returned to East Texas to work as an electrician at Lone Star Steel, and ultimately retired from Friedman Industries. He was a member of Mobberly Baptist Church, enjoyed vacations to Rockport with his beloved grandchildren, loved music and dancing, and working in the garden. No Christmas was ever complete without the annual appearance of Jimmie’s homemade cheese balls, coveted by family and friend.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas Nugent and Emma Loys Lee; sisters, Francis and Sarah; and brothers, Clifford, Lavioa, and Troyce.
Survivors include his loving wife, Myra T. Lee; four children, Daniel W. Lee and wife Jackie of Pensacola, Fla., Dr. Joseph R. Lee and wife, Kim of Colorado Springs, Colo., Brenda G. Ramirez and husband, Fred of Round Rock, Lori J. Lohman and husband, Mark of Dripping Springs; stepdaughter, Robbin Mallet and husband, Bill of Sugarland; stepson, Dean Crawford of Oklahoma City, Okla.; grandchildren, Adam and Drew Ramirez, Andrew and Lauren Lee, “Henry” Reid, Pamela, and Celeste Lohman, Liam and Logan Mallet. Additionally, he is survived by his brother, Thomas Lee and wife, Anita; brother, Robert E. Lee and wife, Billye; brother, Dr. Royce Lee, Phd, brother, Alan Lee; sister, Anna Glidden; and sister, Goldie Landrum.
