In a two-day period, Morris County Deputy Hershel Stroman arrested three people in three different incidents for possession of controlled substances, according to Morris County Sheriff Jack Martin.
“On Jan. 29, Deputy Stroman was patrolling the area of County Road 3201 and observed a minor traffic violation,” Sheriff Martin said. “Deputy Stroman stopped the vehicle and identified the driver as Reed Allen Wood, 40, of Daingerfield. Deputy Stroman received consent to search the vehicle and recovered suspected methamphetamines. Mr. Reed admitted to possession of the narcotics and was placed under arrest for possession of a controlled substance, Penalty Group One, less than 1 gram, a state jail felony.
The same day Deputy Stroman received narcotics information during the course of an investigation that led him to a residence on County Road 3119, according to Sheriff Martin.
“Deputy Stroman made contact with the owner of the residence and asked to speak to Lydia Sue Lowden, 56, of Mount Pleasant,” Sheriff Martin said. “Deputy Stroman was allowed in the residence and made contact with Ms. Lowden. Deputy Stroman asked for and received consent to search the residence, and discovered suspected methamphetamines and devices and equipment used in the sale and distribution of narcotics.
“Ms. Lowden was placed under arrest for possession of a controlled substance, Penalty Group One, more than 1 gram, less than 4 grams. This charge is a felony of the third degree, punishable by up to 10 years confinement in the Texas prison system and a fine of up to $10,000.”
On Jan. 30 while Deputy Stroman was patrolling north of Omaha, he made another traffic stop for a minor violation, according to Sheriff Martin.
“Deputy Stroman found the driver of the vehicle to be Chelsie Megan Bailiff, 20 of Bossier City, La.,” Sheriff Martin said. “Deputy Stroman obtained consent to search the vehicle and located suspected methamphetamines. Ms. Bailiff admitted to possession of the drugs and was placed under arrest for possession of a controlled substance, Penalty Group One, less than 1 gram.”
