Fish Fry
The Jenkins Volunteer Fire Department will host a fish fry Saturday, starting at 11 a.m. The fish fry will be held at the fire station in Jenkins.
 
Scholarship 5K Fun Run

Class Reunion
A class reunion for the Traylor High Alumni has been tentatively scheduled for Aug. 17 at the old Traylor High School on Pecan Street in Hughes Springs. Book Study
Ladies 18-49 are studying from Stormie Omartian’s book “The Power of a Praying Woman” Sundays at 9:45 a.m. The ladies meet at Mt. Mitchell Church of Christ, 6238 FM 144 North.
 
Basketball Tournament
The Black Community Scholarship Basketball Tournament fund-raiser will be held March 22 and 23 at the Daingerfield High School gym. All teams interested in helping or playing, contact Margine Mims at 903-645-4693
 
Church Anniversary
Lone Star Baptist will host its 60th anniversary celebration Sunday, March 10, with Sunday school at 9:45 a.m. and worship service at 11 a.m. Ronnie Lawson will bring the message.
 
Spring Revival
New Birth Baptist Church in Daingerfield will hold a spring revival at the Courthouse Annex at 7:30 nightly on March 6, 7, 8, and 9.
 
Installation Service
There will be an installation service for T.K. Monroe and his wife Sunday, March 10, at 3 p.m. at the Old Emmanuel Baptist Church in Pittsburg. Dr. Byron Muse will be the special guest speaker.
Pre-Easter sale
The United Baptist District Association Youth Department will sponsor a pre-Easter bake sale at the Wal-Mart Supercenter in Atlanta on March 23, beginning at 7:15 a.m. For further information, contact youth director, Sis. Theresa Roquemore.
 
New Hours
The office of Precinct 2 Justice of the Peace and municipal judge for the city of Hughes Springs Gina Bassham changed hours effective Feb. 25. The office will be closed on Mondays, and open from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., including the lunch hour, Tuesday through Friday.

Book Club
The Noon Book Lovers Club will be meet Thursday, March14, at the Daingerfield Public Library.  For more information call the library at 903-645-2823.

Book Sale
Friends of the Daingerfield Public Library will hold its seventh annual book sale on Saturday, March 16, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. The sale will be held at the Morris County Courthouse Annex.  

Pastor Installation
Installation services for pastor-elect, Rev. Roy Miles, will be held at Pine Bluff Baptist Church, on Highway 250 north, between Hughes Springs and Marietta, on April 14 at 3 p.m. Rev. Jessie Biles and the Shady Grove Baptist Church from Cason will be the special guests. The public is cordially invited to attend.
