The Morris County Retired School employees met Feb. 18 in the elementary school library of Pewitt School. The meeting was opened by President Bonnie Wommack, followed by the thought for the day. The treasurer’s report was given and no minutes were read in the absence of the secretary.
In recognition of Black History Month, Becky Munn and Reita Clayton showed a VCR tape of Dr. Bigers speaking in 1989 telling how P.Y. Gray had asked him to paint the mural that is in the library.
After reports from other committees, the nominating committee offered a slate of officers for the coming year. Elected by unanimous vote were Glenn Dunaway, president; Claudia Traylor, first vice president; Janette Cook, second vice president; Wanda Ruth Moore, secretary; and Carolyn Adkins, treasurer.
Mrs. Traylor and Mrs. Cook were elected to be voting delegates at the TRTA State convention April 9 through 11 in Corpus Christi.
Hosts for the meeting were Mrs. Clayton, Ginny Hagen, Mrs. Wommack, and Mrs. Munn.
