Boys and Girls State

Boys and Girls State representatives from Hughes Springs High School were presented to the Sesame Literary Club on March 7. Boys and Girls State is sponsored by the American Legion and the American Legion Auxiliary. Students attend in the summer following their junior year. The purpose of the programs is to instill a sense of pride in American government and to teach the processes of state government. Students, from left, are Austin Sandefur, Nicole Willis, Wanda Cockrill (club president), Caitlyn Moreland, and Chase Cooper.
