Doris Starrett Harp

On April 5, Doris Starrett Harp, 84, went to be with her Lord and Savior. She was born Feb. 13, 1929, to Grady and Irene Thomas Starrett of Avinger. She was a meticulous homemaker and wonderful cook. Doris was a loving and devoted wife, mother and memaw.
She was a faithful member of Frist Baptist Church of Atlanta and the Sunshine Sunday Class. She had a servant’s heart and served her family and friends with much love.
Her last months of life at Rose Haven Retreat showed a mischievous side that Doris had hidden from most everyone, including her children. The family has many laughable moments to be cherished in their memories.
Mrs. Harp was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Ray Harp; her parents, Grady and Irene     Survivors include one daughter, Donna Head and husband, David, of Atlanta; two sons, Danny Harp and wife, Paula, and Dennis Harp and fiancée, Teresa Necaise, all of Atlanta; sister and brother-in-law, Jerrie Robert Loughery, and sister-in-law, Patsy Starrett of Pittsburg; seven grandchildren, Jon Head and wife, Tamy, Holly Kelton and husband Ryon, Hannah Ross and husband, Nick, all of Atlanta, Micah Harp and wife, Amanda, of Hooks, Heath Harp of Texarkana, Blake Harp and Chase Harp of Marshall; ten great-grandchildren, Madison Head, Austin Head, Duncan Kelton, Lucy Kate Kelton, Gabriel Kelton, Garrett Kelton, Annabelle Harp, Sadie Harp, Max Ross, and Chaise Rene Harp. Also included in survivors are many beloved nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
A Celebration of Life Service was held April 8, at First Baptist Church in Linden with the Revs. Joe Srygley, Chris Cowen and Frank Worley officiating. Interment was in Union Hill Cemetery in Cass County.

In leiu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Baptist Church of Atlanta Building Fund.
