Mustangs continue to dominate District 16-2A

The Hughes Springs Mustangs remain undefeated in baseball action, with two shutouts last week.
Trent Shelton earned the win for the Mustangs on Friday when they defeated Paul Pewitt 3-0. Shelton combined with Zach Bassham on a one-hitter. Bassham pitched the seventh inning.
In the game against Paul Pewitt, Chad McKinney doubled and drove in a run. Shelton was 2 for 3. He scored a run and had a stolen base. Josh Anton contributed to the win with a single and an RBI.
The Mustangs shut out Queen City 4-0 on April 2. Dylan Moore got the win. He struck out eight, walked one and scattered five hits in seven innings.
Bassham was 2 for 4 with two stolen bases. Jacob Taylor and Eric Berryhill contributed RBIs in the game.
The Mustangs traveled to Hooks Tuesday evening.
