Akia Williams is District tennis champ

In the Junior Varsity Division, Daingerfield’s Akia Williams was crowned the District champ in girls’ singles tennis.
Williams defeated Cristial Smith from Hughes Springs 8–3 in the first round of play, then defeated Catey Hicks from Hooks 8–5 in the quarterfinal round, and finally defeated Sydney Lewis from Redwater 8–3 in the Championship Match.
