Letter to the Editor
What did you expect?
Dear Editor:
If someone is going to take care of you from the cradle to the grave you must play by their rules. It’s like children you are raising; they have to follow your rules. If society is going to pay the cost of your medical expenses and provide you with welfare checks, unemployment checks or job security, the new class of guardians will set the standards by which you live. This may be described as a fair and equitable system by some.
When you take out the power of the free market place to advance medical technology you get a vast bureaucracy controlled and run by the government. A free market in the medical field is a far better long-term medical care solution. The new medical era we are rapidly approaching is much like “affirmative action” where two wrongs are supposed to make one right. In fact it only sets up an atmosphere for class warfare. Affirmative action doesn’t set up an equality of opportunity but an equality of outcome. Equal opportunity is only possible in a free society.
