Sponsored by the Daingerfield Chamber of Commerce, the 26th annual Daingerfield Days Steel Country Festival will kick off Oct. 3 and run through Oct. 5. Food, fun, games, contests, and entertainment are just a few of the things that are on the agenda during the celebration.
With food first, the First United Methodist Church Activity Center will be the location of the community stew dinner, sponsored by the Daingerfield Chamber of Commerce, Oct. 3, from 6 to 8 p.m. During the meal the Business Professional Women’s Club will sponsor a fall style show. Boutiques participating are Something Special, Eva D’s, Vintage Sky, Melba Dean’s and Plum Cute. Tickets are available from any director, North East Texas Credit Union, Texas Heritage Bank and the chamber of commerce office.
Get an early start at the Lions Club pancake breakfast held Saturday at the First Baptist Church Fellowship Hall from 7 to 9:30 a.m.
A 5-K run/walk will be held at the Nix, Patterson and Roach parking lot. Registration is at 7:30 a.m., and the run begins at 8.
Friday night the chamber will host a street dance on Webb Street in front of Texas Heritage National Bank.  The band, Gypsy Creek, will begin playing at 9 p.m.  Bring your lawn chair and join the fun.   There will be concessions in the City Park and a bounce house will be available to entertain the children.
