Event Center Preview
The city of Hughes Springs will host a public preview of “The Legacy an Event Center” on Tuesday, Oct. 8, from 5 to 8 p.m.  The building is located at 122 E. First St. in Hughes Springs. The public is invited to the preview.

Anniversary
The Pine Bluff Missionary Baptist Church will celebrate its 148th anniversary on Oct. 13 at 2:30 p.m. The Rev. Patrick Loyd and the Metropolitan Baptist Church from Pittsburg will be special guests. The public is invited.

Caregiver’s Support Group
There will be a Caregiver’s Support Group meeting every fourth Thursday from noon to 1 p.m. in the conference room at Good Shepherd Medical Center in Linden. For further information, call Kathy Johnson at 903-756-9868.

Historical Marker
There will be Texas Historical Medallion Dedication ceremony at Pleasant Hill Center, 2722 Farm-to-Market Road 1399 in Linden at 3 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 20. This is for the Pleasant Hill School Restoration Project. Refreshments will be served.

Benefit Dinner
A benefit dinner for Patrick Elwell will be held Saturday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Church on the Rock in Daingerfield. There will be barbecued chicken quarters, potato salad, beans and dessert.

Hymn Sing
First United Methodist Church in Lone Star will have a special hymn singing service at 11 a.m., Sunday, Sept. 29. A fellowship lunch will follow the service. For further information, contact the Rev. Richard Heyduck at rheyduck@gmail.com. Everyone is invited.

Ordination Service
The New Birth Baptist Church of Daingerfield will host the Ordination Service of Lakeda Monroe on Sunday, Sept. 29, at 3 p.m. at the Daingerfield Courthouse Annex. The speaker will be Dr. Byron Muse of Unity Baptist Church of Mount Pleasant.

Revival
Revival services will be held at Pruitt Lake Baptist Church of Avinger, Monday through Wednesday, Sept. 30 – Oct. 2 at 7 each evening. The Rev. Calvin Gould, pastor of East Side Baptist Church of Jacksonville, will be the evangelist. Gary Watson, a songwriter, singer and musician from Hopewell Baptist Church of Hughes Springs will lead the singing. For further information, call Ervin Gould at 903-562-1287.

Revival
Williams Chapel Baptist Church will host a youth revival on Oct. 13, at 3 p.m. Special guests will be T.J. Moore of the New Birth Baptist Church in Daingerfield.

Reunions
The Classes of 1974 and 1975 are having a joint class reunion on Oct. 19, at the Daingerfield State Park. Anyone who has not been contacted, call Kim Glover at 903-235-1956 or Janet Larsen at 903-285-5396.

Reunion
The Daingerfield High School Class of 1953 will have its 60-year class reunion Oct. 5 from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Morris County Courthouse Annex. This is the same date as the Daingerfield Alumni meeting. The evening meal will be at Jenkins United Methodist Church Fellowship Hall at 6 p.m.

Reunion
The Daingerfield High School Class of 1955 will hold its reunion Oct. 5 from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Morris County Courthouse Annex. The class will have a steak dinner provided by the Daingerfield Volunteer Fire Department at 6 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church in Daingerfield.
