Hughes Springs and Ore City met Saturday night for the KYKX game of the week in Longview and, for the second year in a row, the Mustangs and Rebels played in the rain.  The rain eventually moved out of the area and the Mustangs won the game going away 43-20.
The Mustangs and Rebels waited for over an hour to start their contest because of lightning in the area, and once the game started the ‘Stangs provided more electricity and showed off a new wrinkle in the offense.
The offense moved the ball down the field showing the Rebel defense a stark departure from the Slot-T and displayed an effective mix of passing and running out of the shotgun and spread formations.
But the offense bogged down a bit and went back to their bread and butter, and pushed the ball through for a touchdown and quickly went ahead 8-0.
Chad McKinney led the offense on the night was 3-6 passing for 31 yards but also provided 61 yards on five carries and one touchdown.
