Mrs. Woods passed away Oct. 10, after a brave fight with cancer. She was born on June 1, 1937, in Daingerfield to Bobby and Lusta Bell Moore. She lived in Daingerfield growing up where she met Richard in the fourth grade. She graduated from Daingerfield High School in 1955.
Mrs. Woods was married to her childhood sweetheart, Richard Woods for 41 years and two sons, Rick and Ron, were born of this union.
Mrs. Woods was a member of Spring Hill First Baptist Church in Longview for 35 years. She was a homemaker for the most part of her married life and took wonderful care of her husband and sons. When the grandchildren came along, her home was always a favorite place for each of them to be. June-June, as they called her always made them feel special and loved. She was a wonderful mother-in-law as well, very patient and caring and loved telling people she had a daughter, not a daughter-in-law.
Mrs. Woods was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Richard and brother, Gene Morris.
Survivors include sons and daughter-in-law, Rick Woods of Longview, Ron and Flecia Woods of Longview; sister and brother-in-law, Bobbie and Jimmy Walker of Daingerfield; grandchildren, Jennifer McKinley, Kristen Woods, Elyse Woods and Nicole Woods; great-grandchildren, Keagan McKinley and Elleigh McKinley. Survivors also include a loving nephew, Marty Walker, and his daughters, Shana Martin and Lauren Walker. There are several very special cousins and family members that June loved very much as well.
There will be no formal visitation.
