A massive project to redo many of the water and sewer lines in the city of Lone Star is advancing as the Lone Star City Council approved authorizing KSA Engineers to proceed through the bidding phase of the project. The council met with Jeremy Orr of KSA Engineers on Oct. 8.
“City Secretary Ruth Nash and I met with Lanny Buck of KSA Engineers and US Department of Agriculture Area Director Don Williams on Sept. 30 to sign the final loan and grant documents needed to get the USDA funding,” Mayor Karl Stoermer said. “The funding is a $3.2 million project. It is a combination loan and grant and will allow the city to do major upgrades and improvements to both its water and wastewater systems.”
In other business, Earl Alexander was nominated to the appraisal district board.
