Nix
Waple Dee Nix passed away Saturday, Oct. 5, at his home in Lone Star. Dee was born June 11, 1923, in Daingerfield. He graduated from Daingerfield High School in 1940, and was a World War II veteran of the U.S. Navy.
After the war, he was an analyst for ARCO. After retiring to his home in Texas, he attended Lilly’s Chapel Church of Christ in Daingerfield. He requested no memorial service. His body was cremated, and his ashes will be scattered.
Mr. Nix was a loving husband, wonderful father figure, and great family patriarch.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Clenton and Winnie Lou Harris Nix; sisters, Wanda Merleen Nix and Della Jean Nix Bonds; brother, Winfield Nix; first wife, Catherine Truccio Nix; second wife, Judy Beechler Hinshaw Nix; and nephew, Kelly Dee Nix.
Survivors include sister Geraldine Nix Turner; nieces, Teresa Kay Sampson, Patricia Turner Traxler, Kim Bonds Scott, Dawn Bonds Shell, Lorri Weeks Connor, Shelly Weeks Blankenship, and Jena Wynn; nephews Jimmy Turner and Craig Nix; step-daughter Donna Hinshaw; step-son Jerry Hinshaw; dear friends Peggy Wooten and Karen Joiner; and his beloved poodle, Nanette.
He enjoyed traveling, and toured the world.
