Full name: Mona McCracken Brown.
I have lived in: Carthage, Longview, Arlington, Gilmer, Shreveport, La., and now Lone Star.
Family: Husband, Chuck; two daughters, one step-daughter, one step-son, nine grandchildren, and one great-grandbaby.
Pets: A Yorky named Shaggy.
Occupation: Retired vascular sonographer technologist.
One of the best things about my job is: Being retired because it gives me the opportunity to be involved with the local community and spend more time with my family.
My ideal vacation is: The beach and the mountains.
My heros are: All the people that have the courage to obtain their dreams regardless of the difficulty.
My favorite TV show is: Not a huge TV fan, but I do like “The Voice.”  I’m amazed and in awe of people that can sing.
My favorite healthy snacks are: Popcorn and peanuts.
A cause I most believe in is: Childhood obesity. Today’s children don’t get enough exercise and eat too much junk food.
If I could change one thing about East Texas, it would be: The humidity.
The person who has influenced my life most is: My mother because she raised me to be very independent and never afraid to be on my own.
The scariest thing that ever happened to me was: Having my home broken into.
If I had to do it all over again, I’d: I’m very happy with my life so I’m not sure I’d change anything.
The most exciting or dangerous thing I’ve ever done was: At the time it was very exciting to go hot air ballooning, but I guess it could also be dangerous.
If I won a trip to anywhere, I would go to: My list is very long but I would love to go to Ireland.
I would have liked to participate in the historical event of: I think I would have liked sitting in on the Knights of the Round Table.
Two words that describe me are: Loyal and dependable, and sometimes funny.
Included on my bucket list are: Going to Ireland, going back to the Florida Keys, and taking a cruise on a sailing ship.
I wish I had the courage to: Drive one of the really fast NASCARS once around the track.
