By Marlene J. Bohr mbohr@steelcountrybee.com Donald Wayne Adams Jr., 53, of Daingerfield, was arrested Oct. 24 and charged with making a false alarm/report, according to Daingerfield Police Chief Tracey Climer. “At 2:30 p.m. on Oct. 23, we received a complaint of a possible shooting/homicide from a third party," Chief Climer said. "In the report, someone at 917 Carpenter St. had contacted a third party telling them that he had just shot someone and there was a lot of blood. He needed to know how to clean it up. When the third party confronted the subject about calling law enforcement, the phone conversation ended. The third party called law enforcement and upon arrival, we prepared a parameter around the property and attempted to make contact with someone in the home. We received no response. “Several attempts were made to communicate with the person of interest; however, no contact was made. We contacted Mount Pleasant SWAT to assist in clearing the residence. After several attempts to contact the person, SWAT entered the residence and no one was in the residence, nor was any blood discovered.” Chief Climer said further attempts were made to contact the person of interest. “The person finally contacted us on Oct. 24, around 2:40 p.m.,” Chief Climer said. “After an interview was conducted, it was determined that it was a prank on the subject’s behalf. He was arrested and booked into the Morris County Jail for false alarm/report, which is a State jail felony, punishable by up to 180 days to two years in the State jail, and a maximum fine of $10,000.”
