Snow Hill Baptist Church north of Daingerfield celebrates its 150th birthday.
Nominated by his peers at the Northeast Texas Water Utilities Association, Bobby Dena Tilley was presented the Meritorious Service Award on Sept. 10 at the Regional Water Utilities meeting in Tyler. He is employed by the Northeast Texas Municipal Water District.

Charles Wright has been named editor of The Bee effective immediately. Mr. Wright replaces Mary Leigh Best who recently resigned.
Authors will be visiting with people and autographing their books from 1 to 5 p.m. Nov. 7, in Lone Star.

Residents of the Mims Community are in the process of setting up a non-profit water supply corporation to provide state approved water for the area.
Hughes Springs senior Jamie Measley was crowned homecoming queen last Friday night before the Mustangs’ bout with Queen City.
The Amon Jones Chapter of the Daughters of the Republic of Texas met Nov. 2, in the home of Mrs. Raymond Reeves of Pittsburg with Mrs. Chester Coker of Naples as co-hostess.
