Turkey Shoot
The Avinger Area Chamber of Commerce is getting geared up for its second annual Turkey Shoot on Saturday, Nov. 9. For more details call Jeff Patterson at 903-562-1418.

Wills for Heroes
Pro bono estate planning for military veterans and spouses will be held Saturday at the Daingerfield Courthouse Annex from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.  This is a free event. For further information, call Mona Tucker at 903-645-7333.

Veterans Appreciation
There will be a veterans appreciation reception at the Morris County Courthouse on Friday, Nov. 8 at 2 p.m. Refreshments will be served.

Martha Laird
The Martha Laird Chapter National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution will meet at 1:30 p.m., Saturday, at Saint Andrew United Methodist Church in Mount Pleasant.  The program will be “The Evolution of a surname” – Robert Rutledge.  

VFW Post 1890 Rocky Branch
Back Tracking band, with Morris Mathis, will play at the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1890 in Rocky Branch Saturday from 7 to 11 p.m.

Billy Graham
Fellowship Baptist Church will be viewing the Billy Graham 95th Birthday message on Nov.  7. Doors will open at 6 p.m. with the message is at 7 p.m. Counselors will be available at least until 10 p.m.
