Hughes Spring math team captures third place overall

The Hughes Springs Junior High Math Team captured third place overall at the Nov. 9 Texas Math and Science Coaches Association meet in Queen City.  Seventeen students attended and they earned 11 top ten awards.
Seventh grade4 awards went to Calli Stewart for second place in Number Sense, sixth place in Calculator and fifth place in General Math.  
Eighth grade awards went to Justin Hall with eighth place in Calculator and ninth place in General Math. Ben Denny took 10th place in General Math and Jaden Alexander won eighth place in Science. Cypress Wright captured fifth place Number Sense, first place in Calculator, fourth place in General Math, and sixth place in Science.
Others contributing to the third place win were sixth graders, Jayden Williams, Lucas Pope, JT Thomas, Jaycee Alexander and Malayah Everett. Seventh graders were Zoe Lanier. Eighth graders included Kirbie Young, Will Montgomery, Nathan Tippitt, Jose Benavides, Regina Everett and Darion Rushing.
