One transported with injuries after crash

One person was transported to East Texas Medical Center in Pittsburg by Champion Emergency Medical Services ambulance after a two-vehicle crash on Nov. 15, according to Daingerfield Police Chief Tracey Climer. The accident occurred at the intersection of Highway 11 and Freeman Street in Daingerfield.
“Dereka Brown, 50, of Naples was transported to the hospital,” Chief Climer said. “Ms. Brown was driving a 2008 Chrysler when she attempted to cross the highway and failed to yield the right of way. David Hoppe, 54, of Hooks, was driving a 2007 Dodge pickup west on Highway 11 when it was struck by the Chrysler.
“Both vehicles were towed from the scene. The crash is under further investigation.”
The accident was investigated by Officer Bret Gutierrez.
