Sign-ups for county positions continue

Sign-ups for county positions on the primary ballot began Nov. 9 and will continue through Dec. 9. The primary election is March 4, 2014.
In Cass and Morris counties positions open will be for the county clerk, district clerk, treasurer, county judge, commissioners of Precinct 2 and Precinct 4, justices of the peace, and district judge of the 276th Judicial District. In Cass County the position of criminal district attorney will also be open.
In Cass County on the Democratic ticket, those signing up to run are Precinct 2 Justice of the Peace Gina Basham, County Clerk Jannis Mitchell, and Precinct 2 Commissioner Danny Shaddix.
Signing up in Morris County on the Democratic ticket are Ricky Tigert for Commissioner of Precinct 4, Steve Williams as Justice of the Peace for Precinct 2, Gwen Oney for district clerk, and Lynda Munkres for county judge.
On the Republican ticket in Cass County, those signing up are county court at law judge Donald Dowd, county judge George Fite, county treasurer Donna Early, and for criminal district attorney Randal Lee and John McIntyre.
