Driver loses part of load after striking overpass

The overpass on Highway 11 in Daingerfield took another hit Thursday morning. Perly West, 50, of Bolton, Miss., was driving a 2007 International 18-wheeler east on Highway 11 when the load he was transporting struck the overpass causing some of the containers to fall on the highway, according to Daingerfield Police Chief Tracey Climer.
“Mr. West was issued a citation for striking a fixed object,” Chief Climer said. “Officer Debra Hunt worked the incident.”
