A mediation process has been set for Dec. 16 in Tyler to discuss the conflict between Region C and Region D of the Water Planning Groups. This meeting was announced at the Dec. 4 meeting of the Region D Water Planning Group.
The possibility of the Marvin Nichols Reservoir will be discussed. Three representatives from Region D will attend; Jim Thompson and Richard Letourneau, former board chairmen of Region D, plus current chairman Bret McCoy, plan to attend the meeting to represent Region D. They plan to meet with three representatives from Region C.
Region D board of directors recognized there are projects in its region that will need to be prioritized over the next six months. The board began the process of looking at how those projects should be considered for prioritization.
Information for how they will be scored is available on the web page of the Texas Water Development Board at www.twdb.com. There is a report on the web site that goes along with the prioritization criteria.
