Cornelius shines at Texas Motor Speedway

For one who is very active in the community, mainly as a first responder and the fire chief with the Daingerfield Volunteer Fire Department, Jimmy Cornelius avoids the spotlight as much as possible.
Fire Chief Cornelius captured an award on 9-11 this year for his first responder work.
“I am extremely proud of my fireman,” wife Jena Cornelius said. “That’s why I sent the nomination in to the Texas Motor Speedway. They picked him as one of 50 first responders to be honored on 9-11.”
Chief Cornelius has spent nearly 41 years as a volunteer fireman.
“He has been elected fire chief every year by the other firemen since 1995,” Mrs. Cornelius said. “He’s also the fire marshal and inspector for the city of Daingerfield.
