Helping the Whatley Center

Kyle Penney, right, president of East Texas Communities Foundation, and Dr. Jonathan McCullough, vice president for advancement at Northeast Texas Community College, are pictured holding a $45,000 check from the Burt and Nancy Marans Charitable Fund at East Texas Communities Foundation.  The money is to be used as a challenge grant to help complete the Final Curtain Call portion of the campaign for the Whatley.  The $45,000 will be placed in a fund and every time a gift comes in for the campaign for the Whatley, the dollar-for-dollar matching portion will be drawn from the fund and be used for the campaign. The Morans were strong supporters of the cultural events offered at NTCC and, through carefully planned estate giving, they continue to help both the College, and more importantly, the citizens of our community.
