New Library Hours
New hours for the Daingerfield Public Library start Jan. 6. The library will be open Mondays from 1 to 6 p.m.; Tuesdays through Fridays from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and closed for lunch from noon to 1 p.m.; and Saturdays from 9 a.m. to noon.
      
Hughes Springs Cemetery Association
The Hughes Springs Cemetery Association will meet on Saturday, Jan. 18, at 9 a.m. at the Hughes Springs City Hall. The public is invited. For further information, call 903-639-3002.

Walk
The Daingerfield State Park will host ‘Walk your way through January’ on Saturdays during January.  The ranger-led hike will begin at 2 p.m. For further information, call the park at 903-645-2921.

Senior Citizens
Daingerfield Senior Citizens will meet on Tuesday and Thursday from 12:30 to 3 p.m. for game time. Bring your team to play 42, bridge, dominos, cards, etc. to the Old Ice House in Daingerfield.

Republican Women
The Republican Women of Northeast Texas invite the public to hear law professor from Liberty University and former elected member of the Texas SBOE, Cynthia Dunbar, to speak on the subject, ‘To Educate or Indoctrinate,’ Saturday, Jan. 11, at 12:30 p.m. at Selah Ranch in Mount Vernon.  ‘Bottom line, if we’re upset about Obamacare and socialized healthcare, we should be equally upset by Obamacare and socialized education.  And, if we think we’re safe because Texas didn’t adopt it, think again.’   There is no charge to come and listen, lunch is optional but requires a reservation.  Call 903-572-0653 for details.
