Full name: Barbara Meadows.
I have lived in: Omaha all my life.
Family: Son, James Meadows; husband, James; and daughters, Ann Casey and Pam Meadows.
Occupation: Justice of the peace.
One of the best things about my job is: I meet people that I feel I can help. I meet people from all over the county and most of them are really nice.
My ideal vacation is: Go to the mountains.
My hero is: My husband becase he had a massive stroke a year ago. He has kept his faith and not given up.
My favorite TV show is: I like cooking shows and the Wheel of Fortune.
My favorite healthy snack is: Fresh strawberries.
A cause I most believe in is: Protecting our children and seeing that they have food and shelter. I have been on the child protective board for over 30 years.
If I could change one thing about East Texas, it would be: I love it like it is.
The person who has influenced my life most is: My dad. He never met a person he didn’t like. I like most everyone and try to help them if they need help.
The scariest thing that ever happened to me was: Last year when I almost lost my husband when he had a massive spinal stroke.
If I had to do it all over again, I’d: Have gotten more eduation.
The most exciting or dangerous thing I’ve ever done was: I think the most exciting thing I have done was when I held each of my new babies in my arms and thanked God that they were perfect.
If I won a trip to anywhere, I would go to: Holland.
Three words that describe me are: Faithful and a true friend.
Included on my bucket list are: Clean my house really good and organize my closets.
I wish I had the courage to: At my age all I need is courage to get through each day and the ability to do my best.
