Teen dies after one-vehicle crash

A teenager was pronounced dead at the scene after a one –vehicle crash on Jan. 1 on Farm-to-Market Road 1735, according to Texas Department of Public Safety Trooper Sylvia Jennings.
“Matthew Ivan Wilke, 19, of Michigan, was driving a 1998 Monte Carlo northbound on Farm-to-Market Road 1735 in Titus County when he lost control of the vehicle on a curve,” Trooper Jennings said. “The vehicle left the roadway and struck a tree, ejecting Mr. Wilke from the vehicle.
“He was pronounced dead on the scene by Titus County Justice of the Peace Kay McNutt.”
Texas Department of Public Safety Trooper Ryan Case of Clarksville was the investigating officer.
