Kennedy follows in the steps of father, grandfather

Following a family tradition to protect and serve, Brandon Kennedy was sworn in as a member of law enforcement on Dec. 30. Officer Kennedy’s ceremony was held in Longview. His father, Hughes Springs Police Chief Randy Kennedy, pinned the badge on his son at the ceremonies.
Brandon Kennedy is the third generation law enforcement officer in his family.
His grandfather, Emit C. Kennedy, attended the police academy in Dallas in the 1960s. After his graduation from the police academy, Emit Kennedy worked for the Dallas Police Department.
