Lone Star couple celebrates 70 years of marriage

R.C. and Maxine Edwards of Lone Star celebrated 70 years of marriage on Jan. 20. The couple was married on Jan. 20, 1944, in Big Rapids, Mich.
Shortly after they were married, the couple moved to Kilgore where Mr. Edwards began work at Gulf Oil Company. They remained in Kilgore for 19 years where all three of their children were born. Mrs. Edwards worked at J.C. Penney in Kilgore, until the birth of their first child.
