Private water wells should be tested annually according to the Cass and Marion county extension agents.  The Texas Well Owner Network, in partnership with the Marion County Extension Office of the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service, and the Texas Water Resources Institute, and with the support from the Texas State Soil and Water Conservation Board is providing a water well screening day for Cass and Marion county residents.  Samples will be screened for common contaminants including fecal coliform bacteria, nitrates, and high salinity.
The cost of the screening is $10 per bag.
Please turn in samples by noon on Feb. 5, to the Cass County Extension Office, 123 S. Kaufman in Linden.  You can also turn in your samples by 10 a.m., Feb. 6, to the Marion County Extension Office, 130 Kelly Park Road in Jefferson.  The testing will be done Feb. 6.
