Pageant
The Miss and Little Miss Hughes Springs Pageant will be held Saturday, Feb. 22 at 10 a.m. Mandatory registration will be held Friday, Feb 21 from 6 to 8 p.m. in the Hughes Springs High School auditorium. Participants do not have to reside in Hughes Springs or attend Hughes Springs Independent School District. The pageant is open to girls between the ages of 0 to 18 years. Spaghetti Supper
The Pittsburg High School band will host a spaghetti supper at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 18 at the Intermediate School Cafetorium. Tickets will be available at the door. To -go boxes are also available.
 
M.O.M. Meeting

Senior Expo
The Camp County Senior Expo will be held Thursday, March 20, from noon to 3 p.m. at the First Baptist Church Fellowship Hall. There will be speakers presenting information on the latest scams, financial fraud, why everyone should have a will, how to decrease the chances of becoming a victim of theft, elder abuse and more. There will be limited seating. Call 903-434-8394 to reserve your seat. A light lunch will be served. The workshop is organized by Northeast Texas Community College, Ounce of Prevention partners and the Camp County Retired School Personnel.

Food Manager Course
Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service will be offering a Certified Food Manager Course in Titus County on March 4-5 at the Titus County Extension Office.  This food safety course will help prepare you for the National Certified Food Manager Examination.  The cost includes the course, certification examination, course book and all course materials.  For more information or to register, call Lou Ann Rollins, Titus County Extension Agent for Family and Consumer Sciences at 903-572-5201.
 
Family and Friends Day
New Hope Missionary Baptist church will celebrate its annual Family and Friends Day and soul food dinner on Feb. 23 at 3 p.m. Pastor Ross Daughtery and the New Zion Missionary Baptist Church from New Boston will be the special guests. For further information, call 903-645-5796 or 903-946-4812.

Taco Soup and Chili
The Rocky Branch Fire Department will host a taco soup and chili lunch starting at 11 a.m. on Feb. 22. The department recently received a grant for a new pumper/tanker through the Texas Forestry Service and will have information and pictures available. Baseball
The last day for signups for Hughes Springs’ baseball will be Feb. 15 from 9 a.m. to noon at the junior high gymnasium. For further information, call Paul at 903-918-4026.

Dedication Service
A Southern Cross Marker Dedication and Memorial Service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 22, at the Snodgrass and Branan Cemetery in Mount Vernon, Franklin County. The service will honor three Civil War Veterans, Joseph Branan, Luther B. Branan and Jonathan Branan. Joe Skipper of Daingerfield, the great-great-grandson of Joseph Branan, will read the biographies.
