Navy Band to perform Feb. 20

The United States Navy Band from Washington, D.C., will present a free concert at the Sullivan Performing Arts Center & John Thomas Theatre in Texarkana on Thursday, Feb. 20 at 7 p.m. Under the baton of Capt. Brian O. Walden, the band will present a variety of popular and classical favorites.  This special performance by the Navy’s premier musical organization is part of the Navy Band’s national tour.  The band performs frequently at the White House and the U.S. Capitol Building, and has participated in 21 presidential inaugurals.
Members of the Arkansas High School Band, Liberty Eylau High School Band, Pleasant Grove High School Band and Texas High School Band will join the Navy Band on stage to perform John Philip Sousa’s “Washington Post March.”
