James Rex 'J.R.' Sellers
Sellers Graveside services for James Rex ‘J.R.’ Sellers, 68, of Mount Pleasant, were held Feb. 18, at the Farmers Academy Cemetery in Mount Pleasant under the direction of Bates-Cooper-Sloan Funeral Home in Mount Pleasant. Mr. Sellers was born Dec. 3, 1945, in Mount Pleasant, to Thomas Hugh and Dorothy P. (Lunsford) Sellers Leake, and died Feb. 15 in Mount Pleasant. He attended Kilgore College and a veteran of the United States Air Force. He is of Christian faith. He was preceded in death by his parents; step-father, R.L. Leake; brothers, Jerry Sellers and Perry Sellers; and a brother-in-law, Robert “Bob” Dougherty. Survivors are his children, Rex and Kateryna Sellers of Fort Worth, Texas, Chaunte' and Jack Bishop of Sugar Hill, Destiny Dawn and Brett Sloan of Gun Barrel City; eight grandchildren; one great-grandchild; brothers, Dean and Carol Leake of Talco, William Dale Leake and his wife, Sally of Quitman; sisters, Linda Leake Amerson and her husband, Mike of Cookville, Lanelle Leake Dougherty of Houston, Brenda Leake Zajicek and her husband, Larry of Houston, Teresa Leake Kerr and her husband, Mike of San Antonio; numerous nieces, nephews and special friends.
