County candidates present their ideas on positions they are seeking

Inclement weather did not stop an overflow crowd from coming out to meet the candidates at the Morris County Political Forum hosted by the Business & Professional Women and the Daingerfield Chamber of Commerce. The event was held Feb. 11, at the Morris County Courthouse Annex with Chris Spencer as the emcee for the evening.
Incumbents with no opponents were introduced; they are Morris County Judge Lynda Munkres, County Clerk Vicki Falls and District Clerk Gwen Oney.
Mr. Spencer invited the candidates with opponents to present their platform before questions from the crowd began.
Lanesia Jones, candidate for county clerk on the Democratic ticket, thanked the crowd for coming to the forum.
“This shows you really care about who is leading your county,” Mrs. Jones said. “I am a product of Morris County. I have been here all my life. I graduated with honors from Daingerfield High School.
