An early afternoon fire left a family of nine homeless, according to Hughes Springs Volunteer Fire Department Chief Jay Cates.
“The house burned about 2 p.m. Saturday,” Chief Cates said. “The family was out of town in Longview.
David Bunrick and his family were living in the old house that they have been remodeling. They lost everything they owned. Also several dogs and cats perished in the fire.”
Chief Cates said the cause of the fire was undetermined at this time.
