Members are upset with engineer for downtown enhancement project

Daingerfield City Council members expressed their disappointment and displeasure with the engineer, Freese and Nichols, regarding the downtown enhancement project. The council discussed the slow procedure of the engineers at its Feb. 10 meeting. Concern was expressed that the time element may put the city out of the timeline for receiving grant funds.
City Manager Carl Teel said he had recently heard from the engineers.
“I was recently notified by Freese and Nichols of some new twists and turns in matters related to this overall project,” Mr. Teel said. “I have included their email in your packets so that you can see what I am endeavoring to respond to in this regard.
