Blood Drive
Morris County Sheriff Jack Martin will host a blood drive on Thursday, March 27, from 1 to 6 p.m. at the Morris County Courthouse Annex Building. The blood drive will be conducted by the Lifeshare Blood Center of Texarkana. For further information, call Deputy Ross Dickson at 903-645-2232.

Golf Tournament
The Longview World of Wonders Youth Advisory Council is hosting a four-person scramble golf tournament starting at 1 p.m. March 29 at Wood Hollow Golf Club in Longview. Lunch will be provided at noon. The tournament will benefit Longview World of Wonders’ efforts to open a hands-on children’s discovery center in downtown Longview. Cress Charity Auction
CRESS Foundation’s Charity Auction will be held on Saturday, April 5, from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Perry Hangar in Eagle Landing near Avinger. CRESS Foundation is active in the Avinger Community and helps Avinger students with scholarships.
Anniversary
Pine Bluff Baptist Church will celebrate the anniversary of The Rev. and Mrs. Roy Miles on April 13 at 3 p.m. The Rev. Jessie Biles and The Shady Grove Baptist Church of Cason will be the special guests. The public is invited.
Women’s Club
Donna Early, Treasurer for Cass County, will be the guest speaker for the Piney Woods Republican Women’s Club on Tuesday, April 1 at Luigi’s Italian Restaurant in Atlanta at 11:30 a.m. In order for our voices to be heard about government issues, we need to educate ourselves in meetings such as this to have first hand information instead of hear-say. Genealogical Society
The Franklin County Genealogical Society will meet April 21 at the genealogical research library at 110 E. Main St. in Mount Vernon at 7 p.m. John Sellers, a professional and avid genealogist, knowledgeable historian for Hopkins County organizing tours and giving lectures on historical sites in the area of Sulphur Springs, and mayor of Sulphur Springs will be the guest speaker. He has chosen to speak on finding family information in divorce papers. The meeting will be an educational and entertaining experience for all who are seeking ancestors.
Festival
The Bethel Baptist Church in Pittsburg is hosting a festival on Saturday, March 29, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Broach Park. Everyone is invited.
