Morris County Deputy Jimmy Simpler located a stolen trailer and later a vehicle that had also been stolen, according to Morris County Sheriff Jack Martin.
“On March 24, Deputy Jimmy Simpler received a report of a trailer that had been stolen in Cass County approximately three years ago and was advised that it had been located in Morris County,” Sheriff Martin said. “Deputy Simpler was given a description of the trailer from the complainant and from a Cass County Sheriff’s Investigator, and was advised that the trailer had many improvements, making it unique. Deputy Simpler and Investigator Robbie Gray inspected the trailer and found it to be an exact match. The trailer was recovered and released to the owner.”
On March 29, Deputy Simpler discovered a vehicle that was parked suspiciously at Delta Fabrication.
“Deputy Simpler was patrolling in the area of County Road 2110 and Highway 11 and observed a silver sedan parked suspiciously at Delta Fabrication,” Sheriff Martin said. “Deputy Simpler investigated further and found the vehicle to be unoccupied, cold to the touch, and discovered it was reported stolen out of Shreveport, La. The vehicle was recovered and impounded.”
The sheriff’s office is not releasing suspect information at this time.
