Wildflower 5K Run/Walk
The Wildflower Trails 5K Run/Walk will be held on Saturday, April 19. Registration forms are available at Hughes Springs City Hall, the City of Hughes Springs Facebook page, or the web site at www.hughesspringstxusa.com. Contact Glenda at 903-639-7519.

Go Blue 2014
The Go Blue 2014 Child Abuse Prevention Program will be held April 10, at 6 p.m. at the Morris County Courthouse Annex. Sharlotte Porter from Child Protective Services and Michelle Woodruff, executive director of Titus, Camp and Morris counties, will be the speakers. South Elementary Tiger Cubs will provide music. The event is sponsored by the Morris County Child Welfare Board.

Plant Sale
Daingerfield FFA’s annual plant sale will be held from 8 a.m. to noon on Saturday, April 12, on the grassy area in front of the high school on Linda Drive.

Anniversary
Pine Bluff Baptist Church will celebrate the anniversary of the Rev. and Mrs. Roy Miles on April 13 at 3 p.m. The Rev. Jessie Biles and The Shady Grove Baptist Church of Cason will be the special guests. The public is invited.

Genealogical Society
The Franklin County Genealogical Society will meet April 21 at the genealogical research library at 110 E. Main St. in Mount Vernon at 7 p.m.  John Sellers, a professional and avid genealogist, knowledgeable historian for Hopkins County organizing tours and giving lectures on historical sites in the area of Sulphur Springs, and mayor of Sulphur Springs will be the guest speaker. He has chosen to speak on finding family information in divorce papers.  The meeting will be an educational and entertaining experience for all who are seeking ancestors.

Pipeline Emergency Workshop
There will be Northeast Texas Pipeline Emergency Workshop on Saturday, April 12, at the Legacy an Event Center at 122 E. 1st St. in Hughes Springs from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Registration begins at 7 a.m. This is for firefighters, rescue law enforcement, emergency managers, emergency medical services, local leaders, hospitals, churches, civic groups, etc. There will be eight HazMat hours for Train-the-Trainer Certification.
 
Rabies Clinic
Hughes Springs Veterinary Hospital will hold its annual rabies clinic on Saturday, April 12, from 10 a.m. to noon. For further information, call 639-7597.

Running for Justice
The Cass County District Attorney’s office will host a 5K running for justice walk on Saturday, April 12, at the Cass County Justice Center on Highway 8 north of Linden at 9 a.m.  At 10:30 a.m. there will be a Crime Victims’ Rights Program.
