Full name: Tammy Carlisle.

I have lived in: Arkansas and Daingerfield.

Family: My husband, Mike Carlisle; my mom, Sue Martin; my daughter and son, Chelsea and Todd in Arkansas; my step-daughter and step-son, Christy Parker and Chris Carlisle in Daingerfield.

Pets: “Sherry Carlisle,” our spoiled, Jack Russell Terrier and my service dog. She thinks she is the “Queen” of Texas.

Occupation: Country singer/songwriter/ DJ.

One of the best things about my job is: I get to work with my husband and meet new people all the time.

My ideal vacation is: Hawaii or the Bahamas.

My hero is: I have many heroes from country music. But if I had to name just one, it would be Ray Price. It was his way of singing from the heart and making you feel the song, not just hear it, that I learned and he dared to be different with his music. He stood up for all of us traditional country singers. It was his style and stage presence I learned from.

My favorite TV show is: Big Bang Theory.

My favorite healthy snack is: Does Pepperidge Farms chocolate chunk pecan cookies count?

A cause I most believe in is: Children with special needs. I don’t see them as having a disability; I see them as, ‘God made them special for a reason.’ They all have the potential to do great things in life, all it takes is support and encouragement.

If I could change one thing about East Texas, it would be: East Texas is perfect. It’s the weather that needs some work. I could go for 85 degrees year around.

The person who has influenced my life most is: My English teacher in high school, Miss Priscilla Ann Brown. She was always there to listen to you if you had a problem. She was also willing to share her wisdom with you so you didn’t make so many mistakes. She was also a wonderful teacher and friend.

The scariest thing that ever happened to me was: When I drove a semi-truck over the road I almost hit a bus load of kids when the stupid bus driver came across six lanes of traffic, in Indianapolis, Ind., cutting me off, all because he missed his exit. I hit the shoulder and came to stop in the grass to keep from hitting them.

If I had to do it all over again, I’d: Have moved to Texas a lot sooner.

The most exciting or dangerous thing I’ve ever done was: Being in one of Jackie Bibby’s rattlesnake shows and getting to hold a 5-foot Western Diamondback Rattlesnake in my mouth by its rattles.

If I won a trip to anywhere, I would go to: I’d go to Germany and Scotland to see where my family is from. I would have liked to participate in the historical event of: The very first Grand Ole Opry.

Two words that describe me are: Country Diva.

Included on my bucket list are: To stand on that hallowed circle at The Grand Ole Opry and sing; go to Germany and Scotland; go on a U.S. and European tour to sing and perform; be on the Marty Stuart Show; be nominated for a CMA award; and go to the Hello Kitty Headquarters in Tokyo, Japan.
