Avinger Indians off to State competition in Austin

The Region III Class A Division II track meet was held at Bullard High School on April 25 and April 26. The team of Alex Perry, Desmond Chism, Antonio Neal, and Jeremiaha Clark, with alternates Todd Samples and Travis Gonzalez, finished fifth in the 4 x 100 relay. Finishing second and qualifying for State competition in Austin on May 10 in the 4 x 200 relay were Alex Perry, Chism, Antonio Neal, and Clark, with alternates Samples and Gonzalez Finishing sixth in the 4 x 400 relay were Trey Slaton, Perry, Chism, and Clark, with alternate Lucas Perez. Samples placed fifth in shot and Rebecca Samples finished fourth in the 800-meter run.
