McKinney receives honors, scholarships

Thirty-nine Ouachita Baptist University students have been selected for inclusion in the 2014 edition of Who’s Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges.
 
The students were chosen for Who’s Who by OBU’s faculty, staff and 2014 senior class based on their academic achievement, service to the community, leadership in extracurricular activities and potential for continued success.
 
Clay McKinney, 21, is a business administration/ finance and management major from Hughes Springs and has been included. A graduate of Hughes Springs High School, Mr. McKinney has been named to Ouachita’s President’s and Dean’s Lists and has been the recipient of the George and Fay Young Scholarship, Victoria Martin Scholarship, Charles R. Baker Scholarship and the Ouachita Student Foundation Scholarship. He has served as a ministry leader of Freshman Family Groups and social director of Eta Alpha Omega men’s social club. He has been involved in Student Senate, OBU’s chapter of Enactus, intramurals  and Tiger Tunes. He has volunteered in the Big Brothers Big Sisters program, Tiger Serve Day and other projects through Eta Alpha Omega. He has worked at First National Bank of Hughes Springs, as a camp counselor at Camp War Eagle and as an America Counts tutor for Ouachita. McKinney attends Fellowship Church of Arkadelphia, where he participates in the church choir.
 
Upon graduation from Ouachita in May, Mr. McKinney hopes to gain employment at a Fortune 500 company.
