Landing Zone School will be held May 17 in Marietta

There will be a Landing Zone School on May 17, beginning at 10 a.m. for all area volunteer fire departments. This class is hosted by LIFENET of Texarkana, Ark., and taught by EAGLE MED from Hugo, Okla. This will be held at the MCA Building, the old Marietta School, off of Highway 77 west on 250 North in Marietta. 
 
All fire departments and first responders are welcome. If you are a fire fighter or first responder and want to attend the class, contact Chuck Hamm at 903-835-3200 or Alfred Point at 903-824-9966. Hot dogs, drinks and desserts will be served for lunch for those attending the class. 
 
There will be seven helicopters at the school including LIFENET from Texarkana, EAST TEXAS AIR ONE NORTH from Mount Pleasant, LIFE AIR RESCUE from Shreveport, FLIGHT FOR LIFE #2 from Winnsboro, AIR E VAC from Dierks, Ark., CARE FLLIHGT from Dallas and Department of Public Safety from Longview. 
 
The first helicopters will begin landing at 9 a.m. The public is invited to come and see the helicopters. Parents must accompany and supervise their children.
