Local students make Softball All-District Team

Several softball players in East Texas received superlatives. Offensive Pitcher of the Year is Ashlin Roach, a senior in Hughes Springs. Camryn Byrd, freshman, captured Newcomer of the Year. Tisha Thompson of Hughes Springs was named Coach of the Year.
Becca Crossland and Chloe Hicks, both juniors at Hughes Springs, were named to the First Team, as was Breanne Gunne, a junior, as utility.
Kaitlyn Morris, a junior at Hughes Springs was named to the Second Team as a pitcher.
Named to Second Team, first basemen were Bailey Tenbrook, a sophomore of Hughes Springs and Meme Black and Alexius Porter, both sophomores and both of Daingerfield.
Honorable Mention superlatives went to senior Delaney Smith and freshman Ashlyn Fomby, both of Daingerfield; and senior KJ Murphy, senior Halie Pippin, sophomore Emily Meade and freshman Katelyn Poth, all of Hughes Springs.
