One Million Words

Stacy Newsom’s first grade class at Hughes Springs Elementary school was recognized for reading one million words this year through the Accelerated Reading Program. Students, from left, are, back row Jack Baldwin, Braden Graham, Arleen Espinoza, Jerardo, Arellano, E J Searcy, Will Lake, Alyson Cash, Jose Cantera and Bryce Ratley. On the middle row are Mallory Biddy, Addison Barnes, McKenzie Alexander, Trenton Pemberton, Christian Barrientos, Lena Cody, Anthony Baird and Juana Arellano. Students seated are Claira Robinson, Brianna Terry, Shaun Berg and Garrett Lowery.
