Results are in from city, school, college elections; all incumbents retain seats in May 10 elections

With five challengers, the three incumbent city council members in Lone Star captured the majority of the votes and will retain seated on thecouncil. They include Martha Wexler with 51 votes, Earl C. Alexander with 47 votes and Jerri Chism with 29 votes. Challengers included Elizabeth Kienzle with 18 votes, Keith Reiter with 16 votes, James Barrett with 16 votes, Larry Jones with nine votes and Brad Harmon with eight votes.
 
In the race for the Hughes Springs Independent School Board, all incumbents retained their seats.
 
Billy Willis in Place 3 garnered 157 votes, Clinton Morgan in Place 2 received 155 votes and Rick Nelson in Place 1 received 163 votes. Challenger in Place 1, Butch Reeves, received 19 votes. 
 
Filing for Place One, Place Two, Place Three, Place Five and Place Six on the Northeast Texas Community College Board of Trustees has ended with all incumbents signing up to run again.
 
Incumbents include John Bryan received 844 votes, Jerry Webster received 833 or 79 percent of the votes, Chuck Johns with 860 votes, Bill Ratliff with 826 votes and Robin Sharp with 819 votes. Challenger Lynda Tyler signed up to run for Place One, which is held by Mr. Webster. She received 227 votes, or 21 percent.
