Hughes Springs’ golf team finished 11th place in State competition in Austin with a team score of 426-435=861.

Logan Wilson placed the highest of the group with 29th with a two-day total 92-101+193. Kendal Sands scored 107-105=212; Shelby Golden scored 110- 110=220; Ryan Lindsey scored 126-119=245; and Jade Hill scored 117-129=246.

Coach Robert Klaus said two seniors will be gone from the team next year, Sands and Wilson. “It has been a pleasure coaching them,” Coach Klaus said. “We have a solid unit to rebuild next year with the three juniors coming back. I would like to say we appreciate the Daingerfield Country Club for giving the Hughes Springs golfers a place to practice and play.”
