Jodie Gonzalez is valedictorian of the 2014 Avinger graduating class

The 2014 Valedictorian of Avinger Independent School District is Jodie Gonzalez. Jodie is the granddaughter of Phil and Anita McDonald. After graduation, she plans to attend Texas Woman’s University and eventually be a certified registered nurse anesthetist.
While in high school Jodie participated in basketball, cheerleading, tennis, track, the National Honor Society, FFA and cross country.
The Salutatorian of this year’s graduating class is Stephanie Garner. She is the daughter of Dennis and Delsia Garner. After graduating Stephanie wants to be a flight attendant so she can travel around the world and see the sights through her eyes. During high school Stephanie participated in basketball, track, the National Honor Society, FFA and One Act Play.
Other members of the senior class include James Adams, the grandson of Julia and Donald Morrison; James Baggett, the son of Charles and Ruth Baggett; Dillon Barton, the son of Ramona Waldon and grandson of Rena Shelton; Jeremiaha Clark, the son of Keyana Clark; Ryan Perry, the son of Catherine Perry; Lucas Santillano, the son of Angela Martin and Luis Santillano; and Allie Simmons, the daughter of Angela Montalvo.
